For Solar Lighting we tell everyone once you receive your lights place them in direct sunlight for about 2-3 full days to fully charge the batteries, once the batteries have been fully charged they have a memory so each time they know to fully charge with daylight. Then place the lights where needed. If you are finding that you dont get any type of light there must be a switch that has to be turned on. If the light is just dim you may have to buy new batteries. They usually are AA ni-cad rechargable you can purchase these at any store. Solar lights last a long time the panel has a 20 year life and led bulbs 100,000 hours .
